Past Events 2009

April 23-26, 2009 The Annual Arizona History Convention in Prescott, AZ will be held at the Hassayampa Inn. Kathy Flynn will be included on a panel April 24 a 8 am. The panel will be looking at New Deal achievements in AZ and NM.

Past Events 2008

Colossal Cave Activity—Alumni and family members joined the public during a gathering that included honoring the CCC alumni, live music, New Deal history presentations, living history, hands on activities and camp lunch. CCC Chapter 44—is also developing a sponsored CCC writing contest for young people to participate in…..looking at the CCC from a scholarly perspective.

Grand Canyon National Park—75th anniversary activities “Saving the Park and Saving the Boys, the CCC at Grand Canyon, 1933-42” An exhibit will be on display May 31-Oct. 31 at the South Rim Village Kolb Studio –free. A symposium will take place on May 30 featuring scholars and a panel of CCC enrollees and history walks. Registration begins on Jan. 31, 2008 at www.nps.gov/grca/historyculture/ccc.htm
