1.   Commemorative CCC Stamp Cancellation-March 31, 2008

2.   Rededication—of the Fechner Memorial Forest created by Exec. Order upon the death of Robert Fechner. Location: Camp Roosevelt

3.   VA Dept of Forestry—Annual seedling sale will feature the red oak seedling as the CCC 75th anniversary commemorative planting.  The catalog goes to all Virginia citizens and organization who order plants through this entity.

4.   Dorcus Quilters, Woodstock, VA—Constructing a decorative quilt that will hang in the new CCC Interpretive center that will display recognizable symbols of the CCC.

5.    Prince William Forest Park –Triangle, VA—2008 CCC Annual Reunion to be held here Sept. 25-27 Registration begins at 3 pm. On the 25th. Visiting and program to follow.

26th—Tours to the FDR Memorial, the WWII Memorial and the Smithsonian. It is hoped that a new exhibit at the Smithsonian featuring the transferred CCC archives from St. Louis will be open. In the evening Laura Cohen will share about the history of the Prince William National Forest Park.

27th—9-10 am Kickoff of the National Public Lands Day (NPLD) event at the Park.

1:30-3:00 Tour the Park

3-5:30 Free time, The CCC and Nat.New Deal Preservation Assoc. Commemorative Coins will be for sale.

5:30-9 The Friends of Prince William Forest Park are hosting a Virginia CCC Member Appreciation Day Dinner at the OSS Theater at 5:30 on the 27th.

Program: Speakers from National Public Lands Day (NPLD) and National Park Dignitary

Entertainment: Delmas Wood—FDR living history

Enjoyment and education in a “New Deal” for the 2008 Reunion.

Sept. 25-27 The dedication of a new CCC Worker Statue is planned during the upcoming 2008 Annual CCC Reunion at Prince William Forest Park.

6.  Virginia State Park Arboretum — will sponsor the planting of two red oaks in honor of the CCC.  They will be planted by children attending the Arbor Fest held at the Arboretum.

7.  GWashington Nat. Forest—Lee District will adopt a forest program encouraging youth and community to care for public land and honor the CCC.

8.  Shenandoah County, VA—Educating packages are being developed for 4-H and Scout leaders to teach about the CCC and its value to modern Americans.
