“The New Deal Comes to Wyoming Again!” The Wyoming Division of State Parks and Cultural Resources is teaming up with NNDPA to develop a traveling exhibit. They will be exposing some and reminding others of the state’s CCC enhanced wonders at Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Parks and Camp Guernsey State Park. A 75th celebration is planned for May 1st at the Museum at Guernsey Sate Park. A total of 25 CCC camps kept many young “boys” busy and families back home from total economic strife. New Deal dancing, music and contests: The Governor’s Arts Awards dinner will feature big band music and people will be encouraged to wear period clothing from the 30-40’s The Art Council is giving out grants to communities who sponsor a concert of New Deal music, or an original New Deal dance with music and other New Deal arts projects.
Photo Exhibit of CCC camps: This exhibit will feature work by noted photographer Stimson at the Barret Building lobby which houses the State Museum, the State Archives and Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources.
Last May 3, 2008 the State Parks and Cultural Resources held a public event at Guernsey State Park where many structures still exist that were built by the CCC. The Governor spoke as did other historians and tours of the park were offered. A photographer captured photos of the buildings and structures around the state and an exhibit of these photos have traveled the state for the past year. In addition to this, the State Historic Preservation Office has applied for a grant to get microfilm copies of Wyoming's New Deal projects from the National Archives. From this, nominations will be made for historic New Deal buildings around the state.
NATIONWIDE EVENTS THAT ARE DEVELOPING

2. NACCCA has become the CCC Legacy—check annual celebration identified in VIRGINIA: Prince William Forest Park
3. ELDERHOSTEL — considering a nationwide New Deal theme.
4. National Program with Corps Network and National Public Lands Day (4th Sat. of Sept.) — This will be a year long activity to recognize the youth of yesterday and today through the planting of trees and other work on public land to honor the men of the CCC. Modern service and conservation corps will invite alumni to events across America. NPLD organization will reaffirm their commitment to the care of CCC developed public land that they proclaimed at the 2001 NACCCA Reunion at Shenandoah National Park. Both organizations will teach the value of the CCC and involve local communities in the 75th anniversary. The tool kit for participation is still being developed by the Corps Network.
5. GREENHILLS, OHIO, GREENDALE, WS, GREENBELT, MD AND ARTHURDALE, WV –all New Deal towns are expected to strut their stuff and possibly some other resettlement towns like Ropesville, TX and Palmerdale, NC.
